Paris, dated 10: A beluga whale stranded in a river off Paris was given emergency treatment by veterinarians as it suffered breathing difficulties while being taken back to sea.
The 800 kg arctic whale was first seen floating in the river this month.
He did not eat the food provided by animal welfare workers. Last night it took animal welfare activists and firefighters six hours to pull the giant sea creature out of the River Seine, with the intention of releasing it into the English Channel.

The organization tweeted this morning, “It is with great sadness that we announce that the beluga whale did not survive the transport to release it at sea, it was dangerous but necessary to save this poor animal.”
‘As his condition worsened, the vets decided to give him a lethal injection. We knew he wouldn’t survive. We thank all the workers, rescue personnel and local authorities involved in this unprecedented rescue operation.’
