New Delhi: The Indian stock market closed with a big decline on the last trading day of the week due to the weakness of the rupee against the dollar and the possibility of an interest rate hike by the RBI. This is the second consecutive Friday when the Sensex has seen a decline of over 1,000 points. At the close of business today, Sensex of Mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) closed down 1020 points at 58,140 and Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed down 302 points at 17,327 points.

Domestic stock markets are witnessing a steep decline today amid weak global cues. The BSE Sensex fell over 1100 points while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty fell over 300 points. This reduction will cost investors Rs. 4 lakh crores has been lost. The stock market fell for the third day in a row. The US Fed Reserve has raised interest rates for the third time in a row to curb inflation and has signaled the same in the future. Due to this, stock markets around the world are witnessing a decline and Indian markets are also not immune. Due to this decline, the market cap of BSE listed companies is Rs. 4 lakh crore reduced to Rs. 277.58 lakh crore has happened.
These stocks fell
In the market, the shares of all the sectors were seen to decline. The Bank Nifty closed down 1,090 points. Profit-booking was seen in IT, auto, energy, metals, pharma, FMCG sector stocks. Midcap and smallcap stocks were also not untouched by this decline. Only 6 of Nifty’s 50 stocks closed in the green, the remaining 44 stocks declined, while only 3 of the 30 Sensex stocks closed in the green, while the remaining 27 stocks closed in the red. 3,590 shares were traded on BSE on Friday, with 936 shares rising and 2529 shares closing down. 115 share prices remained unchanged. 214 stocks closed with upper circuit and 223 stocks closed with lower circuit in today’s trading session. Looking at the gainers in today’s trading session, Divi’s Lab closed with gains of 1.56 percent, Sun Pharma 1.22 percent, Cipla 0.71 percent, Tata Steel 0.68 percent, ITC 0.36 percent, ONGC 0.27 percent. If we look at the falling stocks, Power Grid 7.97 percent, Apollo Hospitals 4.10 percent, Hindalco 3.62 percent, Adani Ports 3.54 percent, SBI 3.01 percent, Mahindra 3.01 percent, Bajaj Finance 2.79 percent, NTPC 6.7 percent closed lower.
