New Delhi: India’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSDhoni) has invested in one more company. The name of this company is Liberate Foods Private Limited, which is run by Shaka Harry, a plant protein startup. It is a plant based meat brand, whose products are present in the market and currently its business is running in 10 cities. Information was shared during an event in Bangalore on behalf of the company that MS Dhoni is not only an investor in the company but also a brand ambassador.
The company has not disclosed how much MS Dhoni has invested in this startup. Shaka Harry was founded by Anand Nagarajan, Sandeep Devgan, Hemlatha Srinivasan, Ruth Renita and Anup Haridasan. Sandeep Devgan says that MS Dhoni’s association with the S brand will help create awareness among people about products made from plant-based meat. Dhoni said- Mahendra Singh Dhoni expressed his preference to join chicken in plant-based meat brand Shaka Harry, saying, ‘I love chicken, but now I prefer a balanced diet. Which is made easy by Shaka Harry’s products. They come with a wide range of Shaka Harry’s products and offer a healthier experience than traditional meat dishes.
30,000 customers in 10 cities According to co-founder Anand Nagarajan, Shaka Harry serves more than 30,000 customers in 10 cities every month. He expects this figure to triple in the next few months. According to a report, the plant-based startup company has received an investment of $2 million in an initial capital round led by Better Bite Ventures, Blue Horizon and Panthera Peak Ventures. Dhoni’s investment in several companies is not the first such startup in which Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested.
According to the report, Dhoni has invested in several companies, including drone company Garud Aerospace and fintech firm Khatabook. Recently, Garuda Aerospace’s India-made camera drone Droni has been launched by MS Dhoni. Dhoni is also an investor and brand ambassador for online home interior design platform Homelane, food and beverage company 7IncBrews, used car platform Cars24 and sportswear brand Seven.
