New Delhi: Indian businessman Gautam Adani’s difficulties are being reduced. Due to Hindenburg, Adani Group suffered serious losses. However, block deals were seen in Gautam Adani’s companies which are recovering fast. The group announced that American boutique investment firm GQG Partners (GQG Partners) has invested Rs. 15,446 crore has been invested. This secondary equity transaction or purchase of shares was done on Thursday. The chairman of this company is Rajiv Jain of Indian origin.
The investment firm was launched in 2016
Rajiv Jain started GQG Partners in the year 2016 and the firm is registered in Australia. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (Adani Ports), Adani Green Energy (Adani Green Energy), Adani Enterprises Limited (Adani Enterprises Limited) and Adani Transmission are among the companies whose shares have been bought by this investment firm.
So many shares bought in Adani companies
GQG Partners 3.4% stake in Adani Enterprises for around Rs. 5,460 crore, to buy a 4.1% stake in Adani Ports for Rs. 5,282 crore, 1,898 crore to buy 2.5% stake in Adani Transmission and 3.5% stake in Adani Green Energy for Rs. 2,806 crore has been invested. Other Indian companies that GQG has invested in include big names like ITC, HDFC, RIL, ICICI Bank, SBI, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, HDFC AMC, JSW Steel.
Who is Rajeev Jain?
Born and raised in India, Rajiv Jain moved to the US in 1990 to pursue an MBA from the University of Miami. He then joined Vontobel in 1994 and became CIO of the Swiss firm in 2002. According to a recent report, when he left the company in March 2016 to start GQG Partners, Vantovel’s emerging markets fund had returned more than 70% in total over 10 years, more than double the MSCI emerging markets index.

Most importantly, the US-based firm has invested in Adani Group companies at a time when their shares have been falling steadily. The report quoted Rajiv Jain as saying, ‘Adani’s companies manage some of the largest and most important infrastructure assets in India and around the world.
