New Delhi: Australia’s team has won a great victory against Team India. The Australian team won the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India by 9 wickets due to the stormy batting of Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne. Australia have booked their place in the finals of the WTC with a brilliant win. The reason for India’s defeat was its batsmen. On the other hand, due to this decision of ICC, the Indian team is in trouble.
The ICC has given its report on the pitch used during the third Test match between India and Australia. The ICC rated Indore’s pitch as poor and gave it less points. Due to this decision, India’s difficulties have increased twofold. India is likely to lose WTC points due to this decision.
ICC match referee Chris Broad awarded three demerit points to the Holkar Stadium after discussions with the captains of both the teams, Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith, in the third Test after the match ended in the first session of the third day at the Holkar Stadium. BCCI now has 14 days time if they want to file any appeal against this. Talking about the pitch, Chris Broad said that the pitch was very dry, there was no balance between bat and ball, the pitch was helping the spinners a lot from the start. There was excessive and uneven bounce throughout the match.
Team India is still in the race to reach the final
Team India has advanced to the final after winning the first two matches of the series against Australia. On the other hand, when the Indian team traveled to Bangladesh earlier, they managed to win both the matches in the series. After this, Australia has reached the final by winning two matches in a row. Now Team India’s progress to the final will depend a lot on the Ahmedabad Test and the Sri Lankan game. The ICC has already announced that the final match of the World Test Championship will start from June 7 and will continue till June 11. At the same time, the date of June 13 has been reserved, so that the match can be played for one more day if rain disrupts it. However, it remains to be seen how the Indian team returns to Ahmedabad after losing the Indore Test.
