New Delhi: Taking an important decision, the Central Government has extended the deadline for linking Voter ID Card with Aadhaar Number. From now till 31 March 2024 these two documents can be linked. Earlier, the last date for linking voter ID and Aadhaar card was April 1, 2023. However, linking both is not mandatory. A gazette notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice states that applications for inclusion of names in the electoral roll will not be rejected. The notification states that if a voter fails to produce the Aadhaar number, the entries will not be deleted from the voter list.

However, if he fails to do so, his right to vote shall not be taken away. No action will be taken on it. This work is completely voluntary, which will also be beneficial in many ways.

PAN-Aadhaar Linking 31st March
The last date to update your PAN card with Aadhaar card is approaching. With an invoice of Rs 1,000, you can still link your PAN with Aadhaar before March 31. After that you will be directly fined Rs 10,000 and your PAN card will be invalid, that is different. But such problem may also arise with some people that they are going to link PAN with Aadhaar, but there is some mismatch in the details in these two documents, due to which there is problem in linking. Sometimes it also happens that your details are correct in the backend, but your name, date of birth or address is wrongly printed on the physical PAN or Aadhaar card, only if these details are correct, your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.
Will PAN-aadhar details be updated online?
While Aadhaar is maintained by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), you can update PAN card details online at NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) or UTIITSL. In Aadhaar, you can update name, gender, date of birth, address and language online through Aadhaar online service. Apart from this, you can update your biometric data, mobile number and email ID by visiting the Enrollment Center or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The good thing is that now you can update Aadhaar card online for free. UIDAI is providing this facility between March 15 to June 14.
