New Delhi: Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Bajrang Punia is once again going to open a front against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh. He said that we are going to protest again at Jantar-Mantar and our protest will continue till the arrest of WFI president. They further said that we are waiting for two and a half months, we don’t know whether the report has been submitted or not. We have not received any report yet. Now the report should be in front of everyone. People are calling us liars. We cannot tolerate this. Our complaint is not wrong. We have fought the battle of truth and we will definitely win.
On the other hand, 7 women wrestlers filed a complaint against Brij Bhushan Singh in the police station. However, no FIR has been registered yet. According to sources, Delhi Police has said that they are investigating the complaints filed by the wrestlers and based on the evidence found, an FIR will be registered. Police have received a total of 7 complaints from wrestlers from Haryana and outside.
Sources have learned that in April, Bajrang Punia had said that the wrestlers would go to court against the report of the monitoring committee appointed to probe the matter and the allegations leveled by the Indian wrestlers against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its president. Bajrang said, “I read an article in which a member of the committee said that the sports ministry had endorsed the report without his signature. The member also disagreed with the report. If no member of the committee is involved. Submitting a report and disagreeing with the report, how can we trust it?”
Wrestlers have alleged that Brij Bhushan Singh, president of the Wrestlers’ Federation of India, used abusive language and abused the players. The wrestlers said that we have come here to play. They are specifically targeting athletes and the state. Vinesh Phogat accused the president of the Wrestling Federation of India of sexually harassing women wrestlers. He also said of the coach that he sexually harassed him. I have raised my voice against this. WFI president sexually harasses women wrestlers. The wrestlers said that they will fight this war till the end.
During the demonstration at Jantar-Mantar in January, the wrestlers said that all of us wrestlers have come here today. They will not allow what is being done to us to continue. The mental harassment that is happening will not allow other players to happen. Bajrang Punia said that we are being mentally tortured by the federation.
