Ahmedabad: A Red Corner Notice was issued by Interpol against notorious bootlegger Vijay Sindhi. At present Vijay Sindhi is in Dubai, at that time Vijay Sindhi’s wife demanded in the Gujarat High Court to withdraw the red corner and extradition notice. In the hearing of which the Gujarat High Court has issued a notice to all the state and central governments. The next hearing in this regard will be held on 12th June.
The details of this case are that, in September 2022, a red corner notice was issued against the notorious bootlegger Vijay Sindhi of Vadodara. This led to Vijay Sindhi’s arrest on 19 September 2022 in Dubai, and his imprisonment for five weeks. Then on 25th October 2022, he had to give bail of 2 lakh dinars i.e. approximately 44 lakh rupees. Also the passport had to be deposited.
Representing the government, the advocate said that as many as 146 crimes have been registered against Vijay Sindhi. Out of which he is wanted in the police book in 72 crimes. While as many as 74 cases are pending trial in court. At that time Vijay Sindhi should be petitioned in Dubai.
On the other hand, it was submitted by the advocate of Vijay Singh that the information of the red corner notice was released from the DG office, in which 38 crimes have been registered against him. Then how 146 crimes happened. All the cases against him are of prohibition. Red Corner Notices are issued for serious offences. The High Court has notified the state to the central government in this matter. During these hearings in the Gujarat High Court, Nilipta Roy, head of the State Monitoring Cell, was conspicuously present.
