New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) crushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 7 wickets in the 50th match of IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. RCB scored 181 runs batting first, DC won by 3 wickets in 16.4 overs. Chasing a target of 182 runs, opening batsman Phillip Salt played a brilliant innings to put the match on one side. He scored 87 runs off 45 balls in which he hit 8 fours and 5 sixes. Delhi’s playoff hopes are alive with this victory.
Earlier, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, batting first, scored 181 runs for the loss of 4 wickets with the help of Virat Kohli, captain Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror’s brilliant innings. As expected Kohli mania erupted at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, with Delhi fans turning up wearing his t-shirts to cheer for Kohli. Local boy Kohli also did not disappoint him with 55 off 46 balls. Along with this, Kohli became the first player to score 7000 runs in IPL. Lamrour then played an explosive innings of 54 runs off 29 balls to help the team build a fighting score. For Delhi, Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets while Khalil Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar took 1 wicket each.
