42% of CEOs of the world’s top technology companies, in a survey conducted during a summit, expressed concern that artificial intelligence will destroy humanity in 5-10 years. Before World War II, in 1945, Warren McCulloch and Walter Peet first envisioned an artificial mind that could think like a human. But then computers were still in their infancy and it was too early to think about artificial intelligence a step ahead. The science of artificial intelligence has officially developed since British scientist Alan Turing published his paper Computing Machinery and Intelligence in 1950. In 1955, Alan Naval and Herbert Simon created the first artificial intelligence program. At that time the science world called it as logic theory.
John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky first used the term artificial intelligence in their research papers. At a conference held in 1956, these two are credited with laying the formal foundation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the next 4 years, the roots of AI became very deep and systematic research also took place. Till 1980 various researches were done. In 1966, the birth of the world’s first chatbot named Eliza by Joseph Weiszainbaum was also thanks to this AI technology. Japan pioneered the field of AI robotics in 1972 by creating a humanoid robot. This spin of AI has now reached ChatGPT. This chatbot from Open AI company created a stir in the world of technology. After Open AI developed ChatGPT with financial support from Microsoft, Google also developed and launched AI based technology. This AI competition of Microsoft-Google has ushered in a new era of AI in the history of technology but now it is being discussed that this era will prove to be fatal for mankind.

A recent CEO Summit at Yale University conducted a survey on AI. Among them, 42% CEOs termed AI as a threat to mankind and expressed concern that this technology will destroy mankind in the next 5 to 10 years. These businessmen advised caution against the dark side of AI. Is AI dangerous to mankind? Will it harm mankind? Will AI destroy mankind? These questions were asked to top business tycoons from around the world. A summit of CEOs of technology companies was held at Yale University. Meanwhile, this survey was conducted by CNN. The survey asked questions to 119 CEOs of top companies. CEOs of well-known Silicon Valley companies were present in this summit.
In response to the question, 42% of the top businessmen in the technology sector considered AI as a dangerous technology. 34% of CEOs said AI could wipe out humanity in the future. 8% fear that AI will destroy humanity in just 5 years. He also expressed concern that AI will destroy many age-old systematic systems created by mankind. As such, the exam has been an indispensable test of man’s intelligence for centuries. As AI has started to be used in it, the effectiveness of this method has been threatened. On the other hand, 58% of businessmen do not agree that AI will wreak havoc. The tone of these industrialists was that man will always prove to be more intelligent than machine. No matter how intelligent AI is, it cannot destroy humans. These businessmen advised not to worry.
From Twitter-Tesla owner Elon Musk to the father of modern AI, Geoffrey Hinton, have advised against AI and even recommended its controls. Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, creator of ChatGPT itself, says that control over AI is essential. According to Sam, AI will create unemployment. After the launch of ChatGPT, techno-experts are calling AI dangerous and even recommending the shutdown of such projects, terming it a dangerous technology for the future of mankind.
Geoffrey Hinton, Yan Le Koon and Joshua Benjio are credited with developing modern AI. Among them, Geoffrey Hinton has now opened a front against AI. Hinton was once offered by the US government to develop AI-equipped military weapons, which he rejected. The same Hinton now calls AI the most dangerous technology ever. Hinton believes that AI technology will affect every area that touches mankind and it will make man feel well at first but in the long run it will make man miserable.

Well, the technology of artificial intelligence is now starting to be very useful to humans. From day-to-day work to office mail, AI technology has started to help. Responsibilities of research assistant can be taken up and this is still the beginning. AI equipped chatbots and robots will make human life easier in future. 42% of CEOs worry that overuse of AI will destroy humanity. Perhaps their fears are justified. AI can have serious consequences if not properly controlled and used.
But there is no doubt that it can be a boon to millions of people if the controlled chatbots start to be used after proper controls are imposed and proper laws are enacted. 58% of techno-experts are in favor of AI. According to him, instead of fearing AI, humans should create an environment where they can control it. If AI is feared to create unemployment, it will also create new jobs in the future. Every new revolution has such a debate. It was feared that millions of people would become unemployed because of computers, but the same computers later led mankind to the IT revolution. Hundreds of jobs today are found with the help of computers. The same can happen in the case of AI. It requires judicious and controlled use. It is possible that AI will also create millions of jobs.
