New Delhi: The world’s second richest businessman Alon Musk’s company Tesla has been keen to come to India for a long time. Debates have heated up several times in the past, but each time the matter has stalled. The conversation has started once again regarding this. Last month when Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to America, Tesla owner Elon Musk met him there. After this meeting, talks have started once again regarding Tesla’s entry into India. It is believed that this time the conversation is in a positive direction and the government may discuss Tesla’s proposal. If all goes well, the sale of Tesla cars will start in India soon.
The launch of Tesla’s electric car in India has been in the news for a long time. In this direction, once again the conversation between Tesla and the Indian government has started. Tesla representatives are in talks with Indian officials. It is believed that Tesla is preparing to set up a plant in India to manufacture the car. Elon Musk’s team is in talks with the government for this. According to a Times of India report, Tesla is looking to set up a factory in India with a capacity of 5 lakh electric wheels annually. For this she is talking to the government. Tesla has also given information about the price of these cars. The company has said it will manufacture and sell low-cost electric cars for India. Tesla’s electric car will cost Rs 20 lakh in India. This will be the starting price of the electric car.
The starting price of a Tesla car in America is 43490 dollars which is about 35.65 lakh rupees. At the same time, Tesla car prices in India will start from Rs 20 lakh. That means Tesla vehicles will be 15 to 16 lakh rupees cheaper in India than in America. Tesla is looking at India as a big market. It has a strong presence in China, but now wants to use India as an export base. The company is preparing to export the Testa car to the Indo-Pacific region.
It is believed that this matter will become a matter between the Government of India and Tesla. Because Tesla has come up with a better plan this time. By incorporating domestic production and exports, Tesla has overcome major roadblocks. Elon Musk’s representatives and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry are in talks and it is expected that things will be finalized. However, no official statement has been made by either of them yet. The entry of Tesla in India will increase the problems of automobile companies like Tata, Hyundai, Maruti. It will not be easy for them to compete with Tesla.
