Albert Suriol, co-founder of WSFunded: “Our goals are clear: in the coming years, we want to be a leading prop firm in the market, earn people’s trust, and show them that we are the best option.”
Albert Suriol, originally from Barcelona, and Iñaki Martínez, from Spain, both residents of Andorra, combined their talents to found WSFunded, a prop firm that emerged in early 2024 and aims to become leaders in the sector.
Before embarking on this joint venture, each had forged their own path in the industry, blending trading with an entrepreneurial spirit. Albert has over 8 years of trading experience and has been involved in various entrepreneurial projects.
Iñaki, on the other hand, has also accumulated 8 years of experience in financial markets.
At a crucial point in their careers, both decided to focus exclusively on trading to become profitable traders. These years were challenging for both, in a sector where achieving consistent profits takes time and effort.
Albert Suriol, “In my experience, it took more than 4 years to become profitable. Initially, I spent time understanding how trading, the economy, and the market in general worked. As I started generating income, I thought I had achieved success, but I quickly faced challenges related to risk management, such as avoiding overtrading and other aspects that cannot be easily explained in an interview. Understanding the world of trading, the economy, and my own psychology took time.”
For Iñaki, achieving profitability as a trader was no easy task. It took him three years of constant struggle to reach stability.
Iñaki Martínez, CEO and co-founder of WSFunded: “During my university years, trading entered my life. The beginnings were tough; the first three years were marked by losses and continuous learning. Back then, funding accounts didn’t exist, and I traded through a broker. The advent of funding companies transformed my trajectory and provided me with the necessary tools to achieve profitability. This transition was a turning point that marked a significant change in my path as a trader.”
In 2020, both moved to Andorra, where they met and started collaborating. Over the past two years, they observed that the prop firm market, which they were consumers of, had numerous deficiencies. This is when the WSFunded project was born, to offer traders like them a comprehensive and quality solution. Their practical experience as consumers and their business vision have been the key combination that has allowed them to identify current needs, address them, and create a solid structure through their financial knowledge.
Albert Suriol: “WSFunded arises from our experience as traders and consumers of funding companies. During that time, we identified various deficiencies in the companies from which we consumed funded accounts. For example, we identified the lack of a risk management desk in most of them. This desk should understand finance, trading, and be able to analyze numbers effectively. Additionally, we noticed that many of these companies are aimed at a young audience that perhaps does not possess an adequate level of professionalism.”
Iñaki Martínez: “I have worked with most of the companies in the sector over the last 4 years, accumulating thousands of hours of track record in identifying improvements and failures when processing withdrawals from funded accounts. This experience allows me to make decisions in my company with a significant competitive advantage, especially standing out in speed during migrations. As an expert consumer of the sector, I understand well what clients are looking for.”
WSFunded is made up of a group of professionals from the financial sector with a long track record in trading. From their support team to the marketing department, they know how the industry works.
Iñaki Martínez: “We have a mature team, composed of professionals with experience in trading and their own business careers. This team understands the importance of legality, taxation, and finance, crucial aspects that are often overlooked by other companies.”
Since its inception, WSFunded has experienced high growth, rapidly expanding across countries in Europe, North America, and Latin America. In just 5 months, the company has attracted 6,000 users and continues its upward trajectory month by month. They have a clear goal in mind: to become one of the leading prop firms in the sector in the next 10 years.
Albert Suriol: “Our goals are clear: we want to establish ourselves as a leading funding company, earn people’s trust, and show them that we are the best option. I am sure that once they try our services, they won’t want to leave. As a consumer of funding companies, I know what is lacking in the market, and in our company, we have integrated the best of all, in addition to improving what already exists.”
Now, these young entrepreneurs have set their sights on opening their own broker in the coming months. A new chapter in the story of WSFunded, which could be the definitive boost that takes them to the top. Only time will tell.
