Surat: The three-day Yarn Expo-2022 organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center will be held on the next date. 20, 21 and 22 August, 2022 at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sarasana. Chamber president Himanshu Bodawala said that the yarn expo organized by the chamber will bring together yarn manufacturers from across the country on one platform. All varieties of yarns like polyester, nylon, viscose, cotton and cationic yarns along with special varieties of yarns like antibacterial yarns, imitate silk yarns, granite yarns and recycled yarns etc. will be showcased.
Especially Rasal Jari and Sparkle Neem Jari, discovered in Surat only three months ago, will be the center of attraction at the exhibition. Apart from Surat, weavers from South Indian cities of Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh use it to make sarees. Apart from this, this yarn is used in curtains and rugs in home furnishing textiles. Genuine buyers from Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Nepal and Sudan will visit the yarn exhibition. The yarn exhibition will be visited by buyers and visitors from 81 cities across the country like Erode, Ichchalkaranji, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore, Haryana, Hyderabad, Panipat, Varanasi, Warangal, Ludhiana, Indore, Amravati, Bangalore etc. In last year’s yarn exhibition, the exhibitors generated a business of Rs 500 crore, and this year too, it is expected to generate business of more than Rs 500 crore.
Saturday, Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways Darshana Zardosh will inaugurate Yarn Expo at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sarasana, Surat at 10:00 am on August 20, 2018. In the inauguration ceremony, Reliance Industries Limited’s Polyester Chain President R.D. Udeshi and Vice President J. Raghunath, City Mayor Hemali Boghavala, Surat Municipal Commissioner Banchanidhi Pani, Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar, and Surat Municipal Standing Committee Chairman Paresh Patel will be present.
Bijal Jariwala, chairman of all exhibitions of the chamber, said that this exhibition will be held in an area of approximately 1 lakh 16 thousand square feet. About 86 exhibitors are participating in it. Girdhargopal Mundada, Chairman, Yarn Expo-R0R said, Exhibitors will showcase products like cotton, polyester, wool, silk, linen, viscose, ramie and spandex showcasing the changes and developments in natural and manmade fabrics. Apart from this, various specialty fibers like elastic, metallic, embroidered, textured, slub, dope dyed spun, low torque and fancy blend will also be seen.
