Afghanistan: Terrorist attacks on schools in Afghanistan are not stopping. Since the Taliban government came to power, schools have been constantly threatened and no children have been killed in the attacks. There is news of an attack on an educational institution located in Dashte Barchi of West Kabul, Afghanistan. The attack is said to have killed 24 people, most of them school students.

It is claimed to have been carried out by the Islamic State-Khorasan province, targeting mostly Hazara and Shia communities. Earlier in April, explosions rocked two educational institutions in Kabul, killing six people and injuring many others. Both these schools were also located in Dashte Barchi area of Kabul.

A journalist from Afghanistan has given information about this attack in his tweet thread. He claimed that Kaaj Higher Education Center is located just 200 meters from Police Station 13. He said that a doctor from the local hospital has confirmed that there are several dead bodies inside the hospital. Sarwari said that a community leader in the area told me that I have counted 24 bodies so far. Most of them were dead young students for whom their parents wanted a better future.
Shia and Hazara communities are targeted by terrorists
Sarwari wrote in his tweet, ‘A community leader of Daste Barchi told me that the Taliban has failed to provide security to our people in the last one year. An ambulance arrived shortly after the attack. Local people tried to take the injured to the hospital. The Khorasan Diary claimed that the blast occurred while students were taking exams. Sarvari claimed that all the dead were members of the Shia and Hazara communities.
