After the recent Gozari incident at Morbi, many arguments, opinions, comments continued to be published. Everyone’s tone was found to be different. Someone’s poor work, negligence of contract/system etc, etc. Such an incident is not the first time. Earlier in religious places, even during Kumbh Mela, loss of life occurred in some places due to boat capsizing. It is understandable that loss of life occurs due to natural calamities, but those caused by man-made negligence, defects remain imprinted on the psyche for years.
In the incident at Morbi, it was found that more people than the capacity of the bridge were allowed to enter, and after the repair work of some years old bridge was done, it was started without getting no objection certificate. Whatever it is, no one can make up for the loss of cannibalism and loss of life. Locals immediately come to help in such an accident. The whole system starts working. But in some cases it seems that if there is a big crowd in some places then the access is done using credentials.
Innocent people have to suffer in the laws and regulations that are made after such an incident, so when there is a possibility of overcrowding in any public places, if people follow the rules themselves or go to unnecessary dangerous places after full assurance. Because it is human nature, we should not stop fighting, but we need to be careful on both sides. Let us leave it up to the people to learn the lesson from this incident and pay tribute to those who died in this tragedy and those who were injured should be punished quickly.
