Washington: America has announced that individuals traveling to America on Business Tourist Visa or Tourist Visa B-1 and B-2 will be able to apply for new jobs and also for interviews. can appear, but the prospective employee must ensure that they change their visa status before starting their employment.
B-1 and B-2 visas are commonly known as B visas and they are the most common visas widely used in America. B-1 visas are mainly granted for short-term business trips, while B-2 visas are mainly granted for tourism purposes. In a note and series of tweets, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said nonimmigrant workers are not informed of their options when laid off, and in some cases incorrectly assume they have 60 days to leave the country. There is no other option but to leave.
The move by USCIS comes at a time when thousands of foreign-born workers in the US, including Indians, have lost their jobs due to recent layoffs at companies such as Google, Microsoft and Amazon. These workers have to find a new job within their 60-day grace period but have other options, such as applying to change their visa status and explaining their compelling circumstances. They can avail this option if their application is approved.
