New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been in turmoil for the past few days. For the last few days, media reports are talking about becoming the new president of BCCI. It is being said that the incumbent Sourav Ganguly will not contest the next election for the post of chairman. Along with this, there are also speculations that former legendary cricketer Roger Binny will become the new president.
Keeping all these things in mind, some senior BCCI officials may hold a meeting in Mumbai on Tuesday. This meeting is considered very important considering the upcoming elections. Elections for five BCCI posts are to be held on October 18. AGM i.e. Annual General Meeting is also to be held on the same day.
According to sources, all BCCI officials are leaving for Mumbai on Monday night. All important decisions regarding office bearers and posts will be taken in this meeting. No decision has been taken regarding the office bearers of the board yet. Sourav Ganguly is the current BCCI president, but there is no confirmation whether he will contest or not. All these issues can be discussed.
Today Final ODI against Africa, Team India intent on winning the series
New Delhi: The Indian team, who returned to the series with a resounding win in the second ODI played at Ranchi, will try to clinch the series by registering a win against South Africa in the third and final deciding ODI to be played here on Tuesday. During this match tomorrow, however, all eyes will be on the performance of the Indian openers.
After losing the first match by a narrow margin, India’s second-cadre team won the second ODI by seven wickets to level the three-match series at 1-1. However, the Indian team management will be a bit worried about the performance of the opening pair of skipper Shikhar Dhawan and young batsman Shubman Gill. Both the batsmen have been struggling to score runs in the series so far.
One of the most consistent Indian batsmen in ODIs, Dhawan has managed just 17 runs in the series so far. Now with eyes on the ODI World Cup next year, the veteran batsman will try to give the team a good start in the crucial match. Gill, on the other hand, could not take full advantage of the opportunities he got in the top order. After being dismissed cheaply in the first match, he could not convert a good start into a big score in the second ODI. The Indian middle order, however, looks strong with the inclusion of Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan and vice-captain Sanju Samson.
