ISLAMABAD: There was no conspiracy to kill Imran Khan and it was his party, PTI, that may have planned the attacks on him in view of the elections, Pakistani intel says. Detailing how the former prime minister escaped almost unscathed, sources told CNN-News18 that he was barely hit by four bullets. Imran Khan suffered only two bullet wounds and one shrapnel injury. If the bullet had hit the container where they were standing, the bullet would have hit him in the stomach or chest.
There is no conspiracy here.”
Sources added that the area where Khan was traveling is known for criminal elements and if there was a political conspiracy to attack the former prime minister, his own party could be involved.
Sources said that Khan will make a clean sweep in case of elections, but there are chances of him being disqualified before then. Thursday’s drama added to the chaos.
