Canada: The number of foreigners in Canada continues to grow and Canada also needs foreign workers. However, Canada has taken an anti-foreigner decision that will affect Indians as well. As real estate prices continue to rise in Canada, the government has banned foreigners from buying property. The government intends to keep property prices under control. This move is against the principle of free market. Since the increase in Covid cases in Canada, housing prices have continued to rise. Some politicians believe that some buyers keep buying houses for investment which has caused property prices to rise. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s election campaign also said that people are buying houses in Canada to make a profit. It includes wealthy industrialists and foreign investors. The government has clarified that this ban will be applicable only for houses located in cities. There are no restrictions on buying recreational property. That means Indians and other foreigners will be able to buy properties like summer cottages.
