New Delhi: Kurt Campbell, the Indo-Pacific Affairs Coordinator in the White House, has mentioned India’s growing stature in the world. Talking about India, he said that America is really excited about India. He further said that India is playing its big and responsible role in whatever we are doing. International media reports are increasingly emphasizing India’s geo-strategic position and geo-political importance. Leyte Campbell said on Thursday that New Delhi will be the focus of Washington’s diplomacy this year.
India’s diplomacy as chair of the G-20 group will be a focus for the US
Speaking at the ‘Indo-Pacific Forecast-2023’ organized by the Washington think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies, Kurt Campbell said that the US and its allies are seeing India as a country they are more attracted to. The Indo-Pacific coordinator said the US traditional ‘hub and spoke’ model is entering a new phase which will be a network of engagement and partnership. India’s diplomacy as a member of the Quad and chair of the G-20 group is expected to be a focus for the US this year. Biden’s deputy assistant hinted at a visit by the president and vice president of the region.
Campbell also spoke about India’s dependence on Russian arms. On this he said that America is ready to help India to reduce its dependence on Russia. We have made it clear that we will work with like-minded countries to help India diversify its military supply.
