New Delhi: India’s women’s under-19 team has won the T20 World Cup 2023 title. In the final match, the Indian team led by Shefali Verma won the honor of becoming the world champion by defeating England by 7 wickets. It was the first edition of the Under-19 T20 World Cup and Shefali Verma’s young brigade as well as the Young Lionesses shook the world with their roar. Now BCCI is preparing to honor this young team.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar will felicitate the India Under-19 Women’s cricket team that won the maiden ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. “Delighted that Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and BCCI officials will felicitate India’s winning Under-19 team at the Narendra Modi Stadium on February 1st at 6.30 pm,” tweeted Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI).
“Young cricketers have made India proud and we will honor their achievements,” he said. The Shefali Verma-led Indian team won the maiden ICC Under-19 Women’s title by defeating England by 7 wickets in the final in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Won the T20 World Cup title. It is also India’s first ICC title in women’s cricket. The winning team will reach Mumbai from South Africa on Tuesday and then proceed to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the award ceremony. The felicitation ceremony will be held on the sidelines of the third and deciding T20 international match between India and New Zealand men’s teams.
