So a sister slept with a load of stones for 72 hours to save her brother. There was also information that a woman had given birth to a child in such a situation.

Nasser al-Waqa’s two children were pulled alive from the rubble of their home in the Syrian town of Jandris after the earthquake, with rescuers reaching the children in the dark of night. Al-Waqana’s other child also survived. But as Waka sat in the ruins, among the concrete blocks, he saw his wife and other dead children. According to information, three boys and three girls from Al-Waqana have been included in this attack.
Waka, recalling the moment of the earthquake, said the blast was very different from airstrikes, rockets and barrel bombs. He survived Syria’s ongoing civil war. “I ran out of the house and prayed to God to let my children live,” she said in Waghara. More than 21,000 people have been killed in the disaster. More than 3,000 people have died in Syria.
