Many cases of demolition of Hindu temples have come to light.
Let us tell you that slogans in support of Khalistan and anti-India slogans have been written on the walls of the temple. This is not the first time that anti-Indian slogans have been written on the wall of a temple in Canada. Earlier, in January, anti-India slogans were written on the wall of a temple in Canada, sparking outrage among the Indian community. In September last year, slogans were written on the walls of the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto by “Canadian Khalistani extremists”. The Consulate General of India in Toronto condemned the vandalism incident at the Gauri Shankar Temple and said that the defacement of the temple has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Indian community in Canada.
Earlier in September 2022, the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Canada was defaced with anti-India paintings by ‘Canadian Khalistani extremists’. In addition, in July 2022 a statue of Mahatma Gandhi was demolished at the Vishnu Temple in Richmond Hill in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
In September, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement
In September last year, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying that “anti-Indian violence is on the rise” in hate crimes against Indians in Canada. India also requested the Canadian government to conduct a proper investigation into the incidents.
