New Delhi: The Supreme Court has given the green light to the Bullet Train Project on Friday. Godrej (Godrej) and Company has decided not to hear the application of Bias Manufacturing Company. This application by the company challenged the order of the Bombay High Court. In which the bullet train project was given the green light and the acquisition of land in Vikaroli area of Mumbai was refused.

Godrej & Bias Manufacturing Company in Mumbai owned land in Vikhroli area. The bullet train tunnel was to exit from this land due to which the government acquired the land. So the company filed an application against this acquisition.
The project is of national importance and public interest: Supreme Court
According to the information received, there was land belonging to Godrej and Bias Manufacturing Company in Vikhroli area. The bullet train route was supposed to pass through this land due to which the government acquired the land. The company filed a petition against this acquisition. A bench headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud hearing the matter said that the project is of national importance and public interest.
The company demanded fair compensation
The application was filed on 9 February 2023 on behalf of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company. In this the company sought appropriate compensation under the Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation Act, 2013. The company also challenged the constitutionality of the first provision of Article 25 of the Act on the right to fair compensation and transparency.
Earlier, the Bombay High Court had rejected the petition
Under the bullet train project, a bullet train project is being realized from the land of Godrej Bias Company in Vikhroli area of Mumbai. Regarding this project, the government had already paid the appropriate compensation to the company, however, Godrej Company was feeling dissatisfied with the compensation of this acquisition and a case was filed by the company in the Bombay High Court. The door was knocked, but now the Supreme Court has also rejected this petition, and the road in the way of the bullet train has gone.
