Sydney: The Australian government has included Punjabi as a prescribed subject in its school curriculum. It was being demanded for a long time, now the government has accepted the demand and included Punjabi language in the new education policy. This decision is being appreciated by Indian government and Indians. According to the 2011 census, the Sikh population in Australia was over 210,000, which has now almost doubled. There are many countries like Fiji, Mauritius, America, England where Indian people speak Hindi-Punjabi and seeing them, other people have also started speaking Indian languages. Many other countries are also demanding the inclusion of Hindi-Punjabi in the school curriculum.
