Toronto: Canada has recently seen an upsurge in anti-India activities by Khalistan supporters in which Hindu temples have been vandalized. A Ram temple in Mississauga was defaced with anti-India graffiti by Khalistani extremists. Another statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been vandalized on a university campus in Burnaby, Canada. The Consulate General of India in Vancouver gave information about this. According to the information, this statue was placed in the Peace Square at the Burnaby campus of Simon Fraser University.
We strongly condemn the desecration of the statue of peace pioneer Mahatma Gandhi at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus and urge the Canadian authorities to immediately investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice, the Consulate General tweeted. In July last year, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi was vandalized at the Vishnu Temple in Richmond Hill, Canada, which was strongly condemned by the Consulate General of India in Toronto.
