Egypt: Egypt has declared a ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Jihad Organization of Palestine. 33 Palestinians, including 12 civilians, were killed in the week-long violence. America and the UN thanked Egypt for this ceasefire. Israel’s National Security Adviser Zaki Hanegabi said the efforts of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi have been important. Not only Egypt but also American officials played an important role in the ceasefire. Despite the cease-fire, Israel continues to evict Israelis from areas near Gaza. They are being accommodated in hotels, hostels and guest houses. Defense Minister Yves Gallant said the work was being done under an operation dubbed ‘Gust of Wind’. In the last one week, the Islamic Jihad organization has fired more than a thousand rockets at Israel. Due to which many Israelis had to take refuge in bunkers. Egyptian TV channel Al-Cahra said the ceasefire came into effect at 10 p.m. Regarding the ceasefire, the Islamic Jihad Organization told Palestine that, we have announced to observe this ceasefire. As long as Israel does not protest, we will accept it. If Israel makes a fuss, we will not be quiet either. Israel’s military told Al Jazeera it was evaluating the ceasefire. Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant will also attend. In the meantime the army intelligence officers will keep both fully informed about the situation. 3 top Islamic Jihad commanders were killed in an Israeli airstrike. After this, in retaliation, rockets were fired continuously from Palestine.
