Hiroshima: China’s name was not mentioned in the Quad Summit. However, from the decisions taken in it, it became clear that China was the most targeted. The conference deliberated on internet cables under sea, cyber security and protecting sea-lines in the area from threats. US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese were present in the quad conference. Their discussion was mostly about keeping the Indo-Pacific region free from threats and it was stated that this region was not dominated by anyone and would not be allowed to happen. In this way the Quad leaders indirectly mentioned China. The focus was also on the security of the island nation of Taiwan, a pure democracy, and the Taiwan Strait between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland against the communist regime on the Chinese mainland. Not only that, but the Quad leaders took a firm decision in that conference to protect Taiwan in the event of a future military disaster. Apart from this, the leaders of the other countries of the Quad promised to join hands with the United States for the optical fiber cables to be laid by the United States in the seas around the world.
