New Delhi: German luxury car maker Mercedes AMG has launched the new SL55 in India. The company has set its ex-showroom price in the Indian market at Rs 2.35 crore. The roadster features a 2+2 seating layout and a triple-layer fabric roof. Which takes only 16 seconds to open or close. Not only that, it has 9 automatic transmission gearboxes. In terms of powerful engine, cool looks and speed, this roadster can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds.
Engine power and speed
This car is going to make a comeback in India after a gap of almost 12 years. The SL model of this car was last available for sale in India till the year 2012. The car stands out not only for its looks but also for its new and modern features. Powering the high-performance drop-top model is a big 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It is mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission. This engine can generate 476 HP of peak power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels through Mercedes’ 4Matic+ system. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 295 kmph. It also has color options available. Customers can choose from 5 different color themes and upholstery.

What is the specialty of the car?
The Mercedes-Benz AMG SL55 is offered in 5 interior upholstery options. The two interior trim options are aluminum and carbon fiber as well as the two seat options are AMG Sports Seats and AMG Performance Option. The roadster’s fabric roof can be opened or closed in 16 seconds. It features an 11.9-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, which is paired with a 12.3-inch LCD driver display and an optional head-up display behind the AMG twin-spoke steering wheel. It offers all the essential standard and safety features including a Burmester sound system.
Cars will come from CBU route in India
The Mercedes-AMG SL 55 Roadster will be sold through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route in India. It will not be assembled locally and will be manufactured at the company’s factory near Stuttgart in Germany. The two-door convertible is one of the flagship models of the German luxury car brand. The size of this car is larger than the previous model. It measures 4,705 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width and 1,359 mm in height. The wheelbase has also been increased by 117 mm to 2,700 mm for better space on the new rear seats. However, this car is fully equipped with modern technologies in every way.
