New Delhi: After a long wait Threads App has been launched by META. Mate has launched the Threads app in more than 100 countries including India. Both Android and iOS users can now download this app in their smartphones. Meta’s Threads app competes against microblogging website Twitter. Threads are launched in standalone format by Meta but you can also login with Instagram in this app.
Informing about the launch of Threads, Mark Zuckerberg posted on his social media account with a fire emoji and wrote, “Let’s do this.” Welcome to Threads. Regarding threads, experts believe that threads are going to become very popular in the coming time because it is connected with Instagram and hence the number of users can increase. According to experts, users have faced a lot of annoyance with whatever changes Twitter has made in the last few months. In such a situation their interest may turn to meta threads.
Threads will focus more on text and dialogue
Also at the time of launch the company said that we aim to provide a platform through ‘Threads’ which will focus more on text and dialogue. As the company said, Instagram focuses on pictures and videos. Similarly in this app we will focus more on text and dialogue. The character limit for posts in this app is fixed at 500 while on Twitter it is 280. On Threads you can share links, photos and videos up to five minutes long.
Security related questions are being raised regarding this new app of Meta
Meta has emphasized measures to provide a secure platform to its users. Instagram’s Community Guidelines have been implemented in this app. Users can control who can reply to their threads. However, security related questions are being raised regarding this new app of Meta.

As soon as the Threads app was launched, celebrities such as chef Gordon Ramsay, pop stars Shakira and Mark Hoyle created accounts on it. You can like, repost, reply and quote any ‘thread’ (ie post) on this app. All these options are also available on Twitter.
