A MUM has defended herself after she shared her McDonald’s money-saving hack for feeding her children.
The woman took to Facebook to reveal how she only spends £9.56 on herself and her three kids, instead of “the usual £25-£30” – but it didn’t go down well with everyone.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the McDonald’s customer wrote: “Some might find this stingy but I don’t care.
“I’ve just found a way to feed me and my 3 kids ages 10, 3 and 2 at McDonald’s for £9.56 instead of the usual £25-£30 and I’m annoyed I haven’t done it sooner haha.
“I got a share box of nuggets and three small fries which worked out plenty for all of us.
“Youngest two had 3 each, me and the eldest had 8 each because we got 2 extra nuggies, which is like winning the lottery in the McDonald’s world.
“People have probably been doing this for decades but if it enlightens at least one person then I’ll be happy.”
Her post has racked up over 1,500 likes, but some people were quick to chime in with their negative views.
One said: “Learn to cook instead of wasting money on McDonalds C.r.a.p.”
Another added: “I’d think cooking healthier food at home would be better.”
And a third commented: “Wouldn’t work for me, my son has a nuggets share box to himself with fries.”
However, many defended her, with one person writing: “Do what makes you and your family happy! Well done.”
In response to the criticism, the mum wrote: “I’ll just clear some stuff up.
“Thank you strangers for being concerned about what my kids eat, but they eat like kings 99 per cent of the time.
“I cook nothing but fresh, healthy and balanced food daily for them even after 7/8/9 hour shifts at work.
“It was a treat because it’s the half term and I had a day off work, and even if I did feed them McDonald’s everyday, what’s it got to do with you?

CONTRARY to popular belief, McDonald's chicken nuggets are made from 100 per cent chicken breast meat, according to the fast-food giant.
But the chicken only adds up to 45 per cent of a McNugget – as the rest of the recipe is a combination of batter, seasoning and oil.
They are lightly battered before being covered in a second coat of tempura batter, which gives them the signature crisp we all know and love.
After being partially cooked in a fryer, they are cooled, frozen, and packaged up to be sent to McDonald’s restaurants where they are fully cooked.
The chicken is sourced from a range of suppliers and local farms across the UK.
McDonald’s says: “We are deeply committed to the health and welfare of all animals in our supply chain.
“That’s why we’re proud to only work with approved suppliers who adhere to our high standards, as well as those required by UK and EU legislation.”
“A McDonald’s every now and then is not going to harm my children.”
She added that her kids aren’t fussed about Happy Meals, so she feels this works out better for her family.
The mum continued: “I’m not going to keep buying 2 happy meals for them to be wasted when I can get us all a little something for a third of the price I’d usually spend.
“The toys and drinks are pointless in the happy meals because my children only drink water and they’re never interested in the toys, they already had water in their cups.”

Many people pointed out that a good money-saving deal at McDonald’s is their new three items for £3.
And previously fans shared how using the deal is a clever hack to get four extra Chicken McNuggets for just 1p.
The fast food giant is offering cheap eats on nine different menu items including McFlurry ice creams, McNuggets and burgers.
Maccies fans can choose three of these dishes and pay just £3 for the lot – working out as just £1 each.
But bargain hunters will need to be quick as the deal is running for only three weeks until June 11.
The mum replied: “I didn’t know about the 3 for £3 but thank you for everyone telling me about it so I can continue feeding my kids junk food EVERY day like people have assumed.”
