WHENEVER I log onto social media, my feed is filled up with gorgeous LA girls heading to Erewhon to spend their paycheck on the most ridiculously overpriced snacks.
That being said, it doesn’t stop me fantasising about browsing their aisles of perfectly colour-coordinated organic food and drink aisles in person.

I tried to make them at home with Tesco[/caption]
Alas, rainy London is over 5,000 miles away from the Los Angeles store which has gained a cult following online, and I’m not set to get on a plane there anytime soon either.
The shocking prices of Erewhon only adds to the VIP status, a small jar of granola will set you back £10.88 ($14) while a turkey ‘sandwich’ wrapped in collared greens for lunch will cost a hefty £13.22 ($17).
Leonardo DiCaprio, Cara Delevigne, and Brooklyn Beckham are just some of the celebrities who have been spotted shopping at the store, creating even more buzz around the supermarket.
Despite not being anywhere near one, I decided to recreate the smoothies loved by A-listers with the help of Tesco.
Body Ecology Smoothie $13.00 (£10.26)
According to the luxury supermarket, this is the smoothie that started it all at the famous Tonic Bar.
The drink is a low sugar blend of celery, green apple, parsley, avocado with a touch of cayenne, sea salt and lemon juice.
While it might not sound appetising, this wasn’t the worst green smoothie I’ve tasted.
The lemon juice and green apple sweeten it enough to make it drinkable but let’s be honest you aren’t getting one for a tasty treat.
Instead, your making it for the health properties which include boosted hydrating and reduced inflammation thanks to the celery and cayenne pepper.
Making it at home is much cheaper thanks to Tesco and will cost just £2.23 compared to the hefty £10.26 price tag at Erewhon.
Tesco Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
Handful of ice
300ml water (chill in advance to make it even more refreshing)
Tesco Golden Delicious Apples: 2 apples, cored
Tesco Celery: 2 sticks
Tesco Ripe and Ready Avocado: 1 avocado, peeled and stone removed
Tesco Fresh Flat-Leaf Parsley: 10g
Tesco Ground Cayenne Pepper: 2 large pinches
Geo Organics Atlantic Sea Salt: 1 large pinch
Tesco Lemons: 1 lemon, juiced
Method
- Put the ice apple, celery, avocado, parsley, cayenne and salt in a jug blender.
- Pour over the lemon juice and cold water.
- Blend for 60 secs on high or until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour into a glass or tumbler to serve.

Kendall Jenner’s Peaches and Cream Smoothie costs $23.00 (£18.15)
The notoriously pricey health food chain has now collaborated with Kendall Jenner, along with other A-list celebs like Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie.
The eye-watering price can be offset by the fact some of the profits will be donated to Good Shepherd Shelter, a shelter for women and children impacted by domestic violence.
Erewhon writes: “In this Kendall Jenner creation, ripe organic peaches are paired with rich coconut cream. Beneath the refreshing flavour, she’s supercharged this tonic with electrolytes, lucuma, aloe vera juice, and gut-friendly kombucha.”
The smoothie was limited edition, and has since been taken off their Tonic Bar, but you can make it home with the help of Tesco, and I recommend you do.
As someone who sin’t the biggest smoothie fan I couldn’t get enough of this.
It really did taste like a creamy fruity desert that you would have as a treat.
Thankfully, the ingredients are all healthy so you won’t feel guilty about sipping on it daily if you so please.

Ingredients
Handful of ice
Remedy Kombucha Ginger & Lemon: 80ml
Phizz 3-In-1 Effervescent Tablets Orange: 1 tablet
Tesco Coconut Drink: 80ml
Grace Aloe Vera Drink: 50ml
Naturya Collagen Support Vivid Vanilla: 1 tablespoon
Tesco Goji Berries: 1 tablespoon
Alpro Peach Gut Health Dairy Free Soya Yoghurt Alternative: 1 pot, reserve a tablespoon for the topping
Summer Pride Peach Slices In Light Syrup: whole can, reserve 3 slices for the topping
Tesco Coconut Cream: 50ml
The Skinny Food Co. Zero Calorie Maple Syrup: 1 tablespoon
Method
- Pour the kombucha into a jug blender, drop in the electrolyte tablet and add the ice.
- Put in the coconut drink, aloe vera, collagen powder and goji berries.
- Put in all but 3 of the peach slices, and all but 1 tbsp of the yogurt.
- Blend on high for 60 secs until the mixture is smooth.
- Separately, shake the coconut cream before opening, stir well and then spoon a few streaks down the inside of the glass or tumbler.
- Add the maple syrup to the glass, then pour in the smoothie.
- Roughly chop the reserved peach slices, then spoon the remaining dollop of yogurt on top of the smoothie and finish with the chopped peach slices on top to serve.
