How every MP voted on assisted dying as bill set to become law

MPs have voted in favour of the assisted dying bill, which will legalise the right for terminally ill people in England and Wales to end their own life with medical assistance.

MPs voted 314 to 219, a majority of 23, in favour of Labour MP Kim Leadbeater’s bill, backing the right for adults with less than six months to live to choose to end their own lives.

The legislation will now go to the House of Lords for further scrutiny, but the decision by MPs to give the bill its third reading in the commons means it is now almost guaranteed to make it onto the statute book and become law.
