The car arrived at the buyer’s house without a driver. Alon Musk, the world’s richest businessman, delivered a full autonomous (self-driving) car of his company Tesla on his birthday. The electric car arrived at the customer’s house is the ‘model y’. Tesla has shared a video of car delivery on X. In this, the car can be seen moving on its own. When a car or a person comes in front of him, he hangs on the signal and then moves.
The car ran at 116 km per hour during delivery
“We have made the first delivery of a completely self-drive car model Y in Texas city,” the company said in an official post. Car parking places, highways and city roads reached its destination without any driver or remote operator. According to Bloomberg, Tesla’s AI and autopilit chief Ashok Aluswamy said the car achieved the top speed of 72 mph (ie 116kmph) during delivery.
Alon Musk said – this is the result of 10 years of hard work
Musk congratulated Tesla AI’s software and chip design team on the launch of Robotexy and said that this was the result of 10 years of hard work. Tesla’s team has created AI chip and software itself without any external help. This autonomous car navigates the road using high-tech technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), sensor, cameras, radar and lidar.
Price 34 lakh rupees
Tesla has made it a completely autonomous car by updating the model Y. It was first launched in March 2019. The price of model Y worldwide starts at $ 40,000 (about Rs 34 lakh). It is available in 3 variants – rear wheel drive, long range and display. This performance version comes in $ 60,000 (about Rs 51 lakh).
Earlier, the company launched a robotexy service on June 22 in which the car was running on its own, but an expert from the company was sitting and inspecting it from a safety point of view. The company cost a robotaxy ride $ 4.20 ie around Rs. 364. These vehicles are running from 6am to 12pm in a small area of Austin. Although Tesla has not stated when the robotexy service will open for the general public, Musk has soon promised to start the service and start it in other American cities.
Tesla’s robotaxy will face rigorous competition from companies like Google’s parent company Alphabet -owned WayMO. WayMo already operates more than 1,500 driverless cars in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Austin. Companies like Zux are also developing a completely driverless car without a steering wheel or pedal.
