Kathryn Leech, who is known on social media as Kat Saves, previously revealed the seven cheap buys that are worth nabbing from Home Bargains.
But now, the bargain hunter, who encourages people on ‘how to shop smarter and save money’ has revealed the items that she thinks you should leave on the shelves.
Posting online, Kat shared her clip with the caption ‘Products in Home Bargains I just don’t think are worth buying! You can spend your money better elsewhere!’
She then took her followers inside a Home Bargains store, as she said: “Products in Home Bargains that are not worth buying.”
First of all, Kat shared her thoughts on the chain’s cheap plates and bowls, as she claimed: “These white plates and bowls are not worth your money.
“Honestly, they are just gonna chip, they’re gonna break, it’s not worth it.
“You’ll have to re-purchase over and over again.”
Not only this, but she also wasn’t keen on the chain’s Valentine’s Day items, as she continued: “Number two – Valentine’s Day tat.
“Now I know sometimes you can get good use out of the mugs, the socks, things like that. But I’m talking about the plastic, tacky things that you do not need to be spending your money on.
“They are just going to get thrown in a drawer and never thought about again.”
As well as this, Kat also got candid on the ‘gimmick’ skincare in Home Bargains, as she explained: “Number three – gimmicky skincare. I’m talking about this kind of thing [Refreshers sheet masks].
“WHo is even buying this? What are you buying it for?
“I understand these might be marketed towards children, but even so, I really feel like you can spend your money on something much better than this.
“I wouldn’t spend my money on this.”
Kat then got ‘controversial’, as she shared her honest thoughts on the chain’s food offerings.
She concluded: “And number four might be a little bit controversial, but it’s the food.
“The food section in Home Bargains is not any cheaper than any of the supermarkets.
“They just get you because they have all of these interesting, different flavours that you can’t find anywhere else.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @katsaves, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 204,600 views in just 21 hours.
But social media users were left totally divided by Kat’s claims – while many agreed, others were quick to disagree, as shoppers took to the comments to share their thoughts.
One shopper shared: “Have to agree with the tat!”
A second chimed in: “The marble plates are rubbish, chip so easily.”
Someone else admitted: “89.9% of that shop gives me the ick. I’m not a snob or owt but nah. Too much cheap tat, and Drumstick scented shower gel is criminal.”
Whilst a beauty fan put:“My boyfriend brought me the face masks as a stocking filler. I kept quiet because it was a gift but they are really useless.”
However, at the same time, others were shocked at Kat’s claims, as one person said: “But that’s the whole point of Home Bargains – cheap, tacky things you don’t actually need.”
Another added: “So basically go to Home Bargains and don’t buy anything.”
A third commented: “I have these star bowls from when they had them in a few years ago. They have lasted really well, no chips and I use them all the time.”
At the same time, referring to the chain’s food, one foodie claimed: “It is SO much cheaper than supermarkets.”
To this, Kat then replied: “I disagree! I’ve seen so many food items cheaper in Tesco literally the same day I filmed this.”
Whilst another bargain hunter wrote: “It’s way cheaper for us! 89p for a bottle of Pepsi max, that’s far cheaper than any supermarket we have, same with their crisps.”
In response to the comments, Kat later penned: “This is an account helping people to shop smarter. Impulse buying isn’t a good thing.”
