Airtel has signed an agreement with Alon Musk's company SpaceX to bring the starlink satellite internet to India. However, the deal will apply only when the SpaceX will get permission to sell starlink services from the Government of India.
Key Points of Airtel and SpaceX Partnership
Airtel can sell starlink equipment in its stores and offer it to business customers. The partnership will work to provide internet services in rural schools, health centers and remote areas. Starlink can help improve Airtel's network and SpaceX can use Airtel's infrastructure in India.
Airtel is already providing satellite internet services in collaboration with UtelSet OneWeb. The addition of starlink will expand internet coverage in remote areas and will provide more options for high-speed connectivity to businesses and rural communities.
Gopal Vittal, Managing Director and Vice President of Bharti Airtel, said that partnership with SpaceX is an important landmark to provide starlink services to Airtel customers in India. This strengthens Airtel's commitment to the next generation of satellite connectivity.
