In India, it will be possible to make UPI payment directly through Chatgpt soon. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has started preparations for this new facility. Users will no longer need applications like Google PAY, PONEPE or PAYTM. UPI payment feature will be available in AI applications like ChatGPT.
The Reserve Bank of India and NPCI are developing AI based payment system together. Through which ChatGPT users will be able to pay directly without leaving the app. NPCI has partnered with Razorpay and Openai for this. According to Razorpe, this feature is currently under the test (beta stage) and will be launched for users soon.
This new feature will allow UPI payment by the AI agent, ie the user will be able to pay the chagpt by voice command or text. For example, after saying “Send Rs.500 Vijay Store”, ChatGPT will automatically complete the payment via UPI.
Starting the test under Pilot Project
According to the report, the facility is currently underway as a pilot project. In which factors on its security are being examined.
Airtel Payments Bank and Axis Bank will also be partners as banking for this project. Tata Group's Big Basket and Vodafone-Eida will be the first platforms. Which will accept UPI payment via chagpt.
Razorpay co-founder Harshil Mathur said that the initial trial of the new agency AI payment system has been successful and its integration will begin in AI tools like Chat GPT next week.

The NPCI further stated that a new biometric payment feature will also be available for UPI users soon. Now users will be able to pay through their own faces or fingerprints. In addition, UPI transactions will also be possible through smart glasses.
