Pulitzer: The Pulitzer Prize was announced in different fields like journalism, music, drama. The list of award winners also includes posthumous awards to Indian journalists Adnan Abidi, Sana Irshad Mattoo, Amit Dave, and the late Danish Siddiqui. The Pulitzer Prize is considered America’s largest award in the field of journalism. The late Danish Siddiqui, Adnan Abidi, Sana Irshad Mattoo, and Amit Dave have been awarded for photography in India during the Corona period. Reuters photographer Danish Siddiqui was killed in a Taliban attack in Afghanistan last year.
Siddiqui has been given posthumous award. Danish Siddiqui, 4, was on duty in Afghanistan. He was killed in July last year while covering a clash between Afghan troops and the Taliban in Kandahar’s Spin Boldak district. This is the second time that Danish has received this award. Earlier in the year 2012 also got Pulitzer Prize for feature photography. He presented to the world the atrocities being perpetrated on the Rohingya community in Myanmar. The Pulitzer Prize dates back to 1918. Siddiqui graduated in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Jamia’s AJK then took a degree in photojournalism from the Mass Communication Research Center in 2006.
