Colombo: Former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is facing the worst economic crisis in the world, has been appointed as the country’s next prime minister. According to sources, the ruling Sri Lankan Poduja’s Peramuna (Fajjad), the opposition Samagi Jana Balvegaya (Foi) and several other parties have expressed their support to prove Wickremesinghe’s majority in Parliament. According to the information received, he has cross-party support to lead the interim administration which is to run for six months. UNP chairperson Wajira Abhayvardhana has said that after being sworn in as the new prime minister, Wickremesinghe will be able to get a majority in parliament.
