Madhya Pradesh: Today is Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s birthday. On this occasion, PM Modi will release the leopards coming from Namibia in the quarantine enclosure built in the Kuno-Palpur National Park of Madhya Pradesh. PM Modi opened a box in Kuno National Park and released three leopards in a quarantine enclosure. A 10 feet high platform was built here for PM Modi. Below this platform were caged leopards. The PM opened the box with a lever and released the leopards into Kuno National Park. Today these leopards were brought to India from Namibia.
Countrymen will have to show patience for few months to see Cheetah: PM
Addressing the nation, PM Modi said that the countrymen will have to show patience for a few months to see the remaining leopards in the Kuno National Park. Today these cheetahs are guests, they are unfamiliar with this area. We also have to give these cheetahs a few months to make Kuno National Park their home.
The cheetah has reached India after traveling for about 11 hours. The plane, carrying five female and three male cheetahs, took off from Namibia’s capital Hosea. Brought from a modified Boeing 747 aircraft, the cheetah has a radio collar. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi released three of these cheetahs in a special enclosure made in Kuno. Two male cheetahs are five and half years old. Both are brothers. Out of the five female cheetahs, one is two years old, one is two and a half years old, one is three to four years old and two are five to five years old.
Along with this, PM Modi will also attend Self Help Group Conference. Prime Minister Modi reached Gwalior today at 9.40 am by a special plane. After this they left for Kuno National Park at 9.45 am. From 10:45 to 11:15, the cheetahs will be released into the enclosure. According to information, PM Modi will stay at Kuno National Park for about half an hour.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has tweeted pictures of the leopard
Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted pictures of the Cheetah landing in India. He wrote, “Finally, arrival of Cheetah in Madhya Pradesh! Welcome!!” After health checks, the cheetahs have been flown to the Kuna Sanctuary by Chinook helicopters. All cheetahs are found to be perfectly fit. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia met the entire crew, including Executive Director Larry Marker, who accompanied the Cheetahs at the Gwalior Airbase.

The Wildlife Institute of India tweeted and praised the government for bringing the leopard to India. The institute wrote, “One of the world’s most recognized cats, the cheetah is known for its speed. India’s fastest running mammal is back in Madhya Pradesh. We should all be proud of this effort by the government.”
