Texas: A terrible accident took place during the Air Show in the state of Texas, America. Here in Dallas two World War II era planes collided in mid-air. The accident was so horrific that one plane broke into two pieces on impact, while the other plane was completely destroyed. 6 people including pilot and crew members are feared dead in this accident.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the World War II Memorial Airshow was held in Dallas, USA on Saturday. People came from far and wide to see him. While the airshow was in progress, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber suddenly collided with another Bell P-63 Kingcobra fighter. The accident happened near Dallas Executive Airport. Airport officials said via Twitter that emergency personnel have reached the crash site. The crew members of the plane are being investigated after the accident. It was not immediately clear how many people were on board the two planes.
Hank Coates, president and CEO of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), a group dedicated to preserving World War II combat aircraft, explained that the B-17 typically carried a crew of four to five. Coates said the P-63 had a single pilot, but did not say how many others were in the plane at the time of the crash.
Video clips posted on social media show the incident, which many people caught on camera, showing the two planes colliding and crashing to the ground engulfed in flames. Live aerial video shows debris from the crash site. Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation, with the NTSB providing updates to officials.
