New Delhi: After Pakistan’s comments on Kashmir in the United Nations, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has reacted on the same forum. A. Jaishankar said that the country was hosting Osama bin Laden, who attacked its neighbour’s parliament. He is not capable of lecturing on a powerful platform like the UN. India’s chairmanship of the Security Council is holding two important events on counter-terrorism and reformed multilateralism. A discussion on multilateralism was held under the chairmanship of Ruchira Kamboj, a permanent member of India at the UN. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto raised the issue of Kashmir. Jaishankar targeted both China and Pakistan. That said, naturally we are focusing on reforming multilateralism. We may have our own opinions, but a consensus is emerging, at least we should not delay this. The world is fighting against terrorism and at such a time some people are justifying the perpetrators and conspirators of terrorist attacks. They are misusing international forums to protect them. The world is going through a time of crises, wars and violence, it is struggling. Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals are still needed to bring peace and show the way. India will complete its two-year term as an elected member of the 15-member United Nations Security Council at the end of December this year. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had reached the United Nations to chair two counter-terrorism meetings.
