America: A sub-variant of Corona Omicron is spreading rapidly in many countries. Its impact is also being seen in America, which WHO has expressed concern. The WHO has appealed to travelers from all countries to wear masks if they are traveling to countries where the number of cases is high and appealed to countries to advise travelers to wear masks. A senior WHO official said that travelers going to high-risk areas have been advised to wear masks. Countries also talked about the need to keep pre-travel testing as evidence. In addition, SNB officials said, Omicron variant XBB.1.5 is highly infectious and is responsible for 27.6 percent of corona cases in America as of Sunday. Officials said that this subvariant has been activated in some countries in Europe as well. Chairman of Kovid Working Group Dr. N. K. Arora said that many cases of this sub-variant are active in the country, but it has not yet appeared to be severe. Now, genomic monitoring has also been increased and screening at airports has been completed. Arora further said that many samples have also been taken but there is no possibility of any new type of variant or increase in Corona in the coming weeks. He said, the Omicron variant that we see in India can be seen in any part of the world. He said, this variant has not yet proved to be so terrifying for India. We need to keep a close eye on European, North American and East Asian countries so that we can stop an epidemic before it occurs.
