According to the information, the Pakistan Parliament’s Standing Committee on Aviation was informed on Thursday that a large number of pilots have left the country in the recent past. Aamir Hayat, CEO of the debt-ridden state-run airline Pakistan International Airlines, said that 15 pilots have left the country recently. Hayat said PIA wanted to recruit a new pilot but was unable to get approval. Committee Chairman Senator Hidayatullah said that the future of those who dream of becoming a pilot may be in jeopardy.
141 pilot’s license in doubt
Pakistan has banned dollar from many foreign airline companies, so now these companies are asking Pakistani customers to buy tickets by paying in dollars. The Senate committee has also been told that passengers are using VPNs to buy tickets. Due to which they are getting tickets at a lower price than the tickets bought in Pakistan. Pakistan has raised taxes on a large scale to alleviate poverty. Not only this, the committee meeting also revealed that the licenses of 141 pilots of Pakistan International Airlines are doubtful.
PIA owes billions of rupees
Earlier it came to light that many Pakistani pilots had obtained airline pilot’s licenses by paying money. After this, many pilots were banned from flying. Meanwhile, the case of fake degree of pilots also came to light. PIA said many pilots have been caught with fake degrees and have been sacked. In the meantime, it has also come to light that Pakistan’s state-owned airline PIA has to pay billions of rupees.
