Ahmedabad: Day by day, the state and central government have been giving the gift of inflation to the people. Meanwhile, the price increase in toll tax on Ahmedabad-Vadodra Express Highway (Ahmedabad-Vadodra Express Highway) has hit the people suffering from inflation. While inflation has skyrocketed, running a household is becoming difficult on the one hand. Petrol-diesel prices are also skyrocketing. On the other hand, the National Highway Authority has increased the toll tax by 10 to 15 percent on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway. The effect of this price increase will be seen on around 49 toll booths in Gujarat.
The toll tax of Vadodara to Ahmedabad cars has been hiked by 10 to 15 percent. Congress Media Convenor Dr. Manish Doshi said that there are 816 toll tax collection booths on the highways of the National Highway Authority across the country, among them 49 toll gates in Gujarat will be directly affected by this price increase. The BJP government at the center collected a whopping amount of Rs 34,778 crore as toll tax in 2021. While in the year 2022, a whopping amount of 50,855 crores was recovered. On the one hand, the citizens of the country and the citizens of Gujarat, who are constantly suffering due to rampant inflation, dwindling sources of income and economic crisis, are now finding it difficult to transport themselves.
Dr. Manish Doshi further said that the toll tax is going to be increased by 10 to 15 percent on the empty Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway. That is, before going from Ahmedabad to Vadodara, the amount we pay will increase by 15 to 20 rupees. That is, the single toll will be 135 rupees and the return will be 200 rupees. 65 for single trip from Ahmedabad to Nadiad and 95 for return trip. Ahmedabad to Anand’s single trip will be 85 and return trip will be 125.
Even in the international market of Petrol-Diesel, if the price of fruit oil decreases, the benefit of the price reduction is not available to the people of the country and Gujarat. Then the price increase in toll tax should be withdrawn and relief should be given to the citizens. Only then will transportation become cheaper. So the Congress party demands that people get relief from inflation.
