London: A religious organization based in Britain is planning to build the first temple of Lord Jagannath. An entrepreneur originally from Odisha has pledged to donate 25 million pounds for this initiative. The first phase of the construction of this temple is likely to start at the end of next year. The Jagannath Society was registered in Charity Commission England as global Indian investor Vishwanath Patnaik resolved at the first Jagannath convention held in London on Sunday. Finnest Group founder Patnaik and the company’s managing director Arjun Kar are among the major donors to the project. On this occasion Arjun Kar announced that Vishwanath Patnaik had pledged 25 million pounds for the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath in London to be funded by the Finnest Group of Companies of which he is a director. Arjun disclosed that the group has pledged 7 million pounds to purchase 15 acres of land for the construction of the temple. Which will be known as Jagannath Temple London.
