New Delhi: Internet usage is increasing rapidly in India. It can be estimated from the fact that the internet is being used in more villages than in the cities of the country. Not only that, more than half of the country’s population is an active internet user. Most importantly, India has set a unique record in internet usage, with a report claiming that India will have the highest internet growth by 2025. At present 52 percent of Indians i.e. about 76 crore people are actively using the internet in India. The number of internet users in India has increased rapidly. According to an estimate, 90 crore Indians will be actively using the internet in the next two years i.e. by 2025. Active users are people who use the internet at least once a month. India has seen such growth for the first time. According to the reports released by the Internet and Mobile Association of India, the biggest thing is that out of these 76 crore internet users, 40 crore are rural people and 36 crore people live in cities. That means internet usage is more in villages than in cities.
