New Delhi: India has received an invitation to join NATO Plus. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO is a military alliance of 31 countries. In which mainly America and some European countries have been included. While NATO Plus includes America and five more countries considered as its allies. According to a report, it has been said that America wants India to be a part of NATO Plus, the military power alliance of western countries.
Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on his 3-day visit to America. Where the friendship between Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden was seen. However, this proposal was made even before Narendra Modi’s visit to America. India has not yet given any response to this proposal. In fact, many western countries, including the US, want to include India in NATO Plus in view of China’s increasing aggression. As per the recently released report, it has been said that the NATO Plus arrangement should be strengthened to include India. India’s inclusion in NATO Plus is being emphasized to counter China and boost deterrence for Taiwan.
NATO Plus includes the US along with five other allies
NATO Plus includes the US and its five allies Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Israel and South Korea. However, these countries are not officially members of North Atlantic Territory Organization i.e. NATO. But they are always ready to help with arms, intelligence and other means when needed. Now the US is inviting India to be part of this larger bloc that stands together against its arch rivals like China and Russia. India’s inclusion in NATO Plus is being emphasized to counter China and boost deterrence for Taiwan. If India joins NATO, America will get a strong ally to curb China’s bully in Asia.
