A trip away with a friend – and the quality time and laughter that comes with it – can be just the tonic.
However, we’ve all heard the stories of the holidays with friends that have gone south.
So being 100% certain on a trip is important before making the commitment – and a woman on Reddit has shared her own holiday drama.
She explains in the post: ‘My friend and I have had a planned girls trip in February for over a year now. The whole point of going to this city was to be going out and partying. Now she’s pregnant and still wants to do the trip. I think we should cancel (we wouldn’t be out any money if we do it within the next few weeks).
‘She says I’m bailing on her and is mad at me.’
After asking Reddit if she’s in the wrong for doing so, most people backed up the poster’s decision entirely.
One person replied: ‘When planning the trip you two were of same mind in terms of what the trip entailed. Now with current/future circumstances you will not be wanting to do same activities as each other on the trip.’
While another wrote: ‘You have no idea what her pregnancy will be like 3-4 months from now. Will she be sick? Angry? Tired? Better to cancel now instead of pushing through when you won’t have fun.
‘I’m with you on this. Her being pregnant totally changes the trip. You will definitely have to make some accommodations for her. I think it’s fair to cancel.’
On the whole, most seemed to agree that the trip isn’t what the friends first had in mind – so it’s perfectly fair to cancel.
