The Just Divine biscuits are similar to Tim Tams, in that they are two biscuits, sandwiched together with chocolate cream[/caption]
Originally inspired by British Penguin biscuits, Tim Tams were launched by Australian biscuit manufacturer Arnott’s in 1964.
They’re comprised of two chocolate biscuits, sandwiched together with chocolate cream, coated in chocolate.
The beloved chocolate biscuits, hailed as “Aussie gold” by fans, are a favourite amongst foodies down under and Brits have been crying out for them to be launched on our shores for years.
Now, three different flavours are now available, including Original, Dark and Chewy Caramel and you can get them for £2.50 at Waitrose and Ocado.
But if £2.50 is a bit above your price range, then you’ll need to head down to Aldi to check out their affordable alternative.
Food fans recently went wild after Tracey Buxton shared a snap of the new biscuit bars on social media.
Not only do they taste ‘gorgeous’, but they are cheaper than Tim Tams too.
Posting on Aldi UK shoppers, a private Facebook group with a whopping 289,700 members, Tracey shared a picture of the sweet treat and wrote: “Anyone seen these please? Like Tim Tams.”
Aldi’s own Just Divine biscuits come in two different flavours – salted caramel and milk chocolate.
The treats are part of Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected’ range, and are £1.79 a pack.
The ‘totally heavenly’ biscuits bars are strikingly similar to Tim Tams – as they are smothered in a delicately smooth milk chocolate.
Even better, they are 71p cheaper than the iconic Australian buy.
SHOPPERS BEAM
Shoppers were stunned by the Just Divine treats – and many took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “I’ll be getting those.”
They’re absolutely gorgeous
Another added: “Getting them, salted caramel are my faves.”
A third commented: “They’re absolutely gorgeous.”
Whilst someone else claimed: “Bought them yesterday.”
‘PENGUINS IN DISGUISE’
However, at the same time, some food fans were left questioning the treats.
Many compared them to Penguins – a popular milk chocolate biscuit bar.
One Facebook user asked: “Are they not Penguins in disguise?”
Meanwhile, another questioned: “Are they not just an upmarket version of a Penguin?!”
